Useful information for employers
People with residence permit for purpose of studies may engage in gainful employment during their term-time for maximum 24 hours weekly, and outside their term-time or for a maximum period of 90 days or 66 working days. (Act II of 2007 on the Entry and Stay of Third-Country Nationals, Section 20 (3))

In case if you would like to employ the person in more hours or more workdays than the procedure consists of two steps:

  • 1, the employe has to submit the labour needs (munkaerőigény) to the Employment Center regarding the addess of the employment . The process will be completed in 15 days.

  • 2, In the single permit application procedure (összevont engedélyezési eljárás) the employee will submit the application for the residence permit at the Office of Immigration and Nationality (OIN). It is possible to present the certificate of the closed labour need procedure with the application or later as a completition of the. The OIN office will contact the Employment Centerfor issuing an authority statement. The stakeholders have 90 days to complete the process but they may make a decision sooner as well.
